Denial of the bus theory

How far will women go out of fear and arrogance?

Angelina Jolie has removed both of her breasts:
My doctors estimated that I had an 87 percent risk of breast cancer and a 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer, although the risk is different in the case of each woman.
Only a fraction of breast cancers result from an inherited gene mutation. Those with a defect in BRCA1 have a 65 percent risk of getting it, on average.
Once I knew that this was my reality, I decided to be proactive and to minimize the risk as much I could. I made a decision to have a preventive double mastectomy. I started with the breasts, as my risk of breast cancer is higher than my risk of ovarian cancer, and the surgery is more complex.
On April 27, I finished the three months of medical procedures that the mastectomies involved. During that time I have been able to keep this private and to carry on with my work.
But I am writing about it now because I hope that other women can benefit from my experience. Cancer is still a word that strikes fear into people’s hearts, producing a deep sense of powerlessness. But today it is possible to find out through a blood test whether you are highly susceptible to breast and ovarian cancer, and then take action.

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. - Matthew 10:28

These stories make me think about people like Justin the Marine. The 18th IED got him, took his leg, but didn't kill him.

I wonder if Ms. Jolie will succumb to living in a bubble soon - no more riding in cars, no more trips to disease filled countries, no more gun shoot out movie scenes (Brandon Lee anyone).

And no more walking off of curbs, because, you know, the bus.

  1. I completely agree with you. I have a friend who did the same thing. The thing is, the surgery and implants can cause cancer. Why not just eat lots of fruits and vegetables and stay away from chemicals? It seems a much gentler and wise approach.

  2. This is sad, especially since I've read that bearing and nursing multiple children will reduce risk considerably. The gal is already living in a weird bubble.

  3. That's like slapping God in the face. God created the boobs, and said that they were good.

  4. I wonder though, if all the femtards chop off their boobs, could we get rid of the NFL's pink October?

  5. Obviously Brad Pitt is gay. I said it all along.

    1. That would explain why I have never, ever found him attractive in the slightest.

    2. Even in Legends of the Fall? I thought he looked pretty good in that.

  6. Can't say that I see anything wrong with her decision. She obviously takes care of herself, at least physically. Maybe I would do it to. Hard to say since I'm not in her shoes. Wow, I've now given way too much of my time to Angelina today. Back to work!

    1. Would you agree it is a decision driven by fear and arrogance?

Costly and risky surgeries that involve mutilating one's body, done based on chance occurrence of disease are very unwise.

Culturally, it is yet more feminist evil: "kill your babies in the womb, cut off your breasts."

It looks like a grown-up decision to me. She's putting her health ahead of personal vanity. Also, she has adopted children who need her to live until they are adults.

I don't much like her but I won't second guess her on this. I doubt she did it to be trendy and PC the way she lives most of her life.

    3. So her breasts were causing her to be unhealthy?

Not once did I say this was about vanity, trendiness or political correctness. I said it is out of fear. I said it was out of arrogance. I'm sure God is thrilled to know she has done what is necessary to stave off death. A few hundred thousand dollars and an any woman could replace parts of her God created body with synthetic and supposed healthier parts.

Next she will be removing her ovaries. Those awful things. Just there to kill a woman.

  7. Just wondering if her doctors were female....

  8. Another thought: those breasts are probably worth a fortune on the auction block.

Imagine being a collector and owning not just a blouse she wore... or even a bra... but Angelina's ACTUAL BREASTS!

  10. Hmm, nice show of Christian compassion shown at this blog. Ms. Jolie is a talented and beautiful woman and a true humanitarian. None of you are good enough to touch her hem.

    1. Compassion with what exactly? Self-mutilation? Paranoia? And since when is buying children out of a catalog considered "humanitarian"?
